Pho Pasteur II on East Belt Line Road in Carrollton serves up a solid, no-frills Vietnamese dining experience, mainly focusing on authentic pho and classic Vietnamese dishes. This spot tends to attract both locals craving a comforting bowl of pho and those familiar with Vietnamese cuisine who appreciate the nuances of a well-made broth. It’s a great place to swing by for a casual lunch or dinner if you’re in the mood for something hearty and familiar.

The atmosphere is clean and modern without feeling overly polished—more the kind of place where food takes center stage. The dining area gets busy, especially around typical lunch hours, but turnover is steady thanks to quick seatings and efficient service. While most of the attention here is on the food, some visitors have noted the staff can be a bit distant, which may keep this spot rooted more in its culinary strengths than in creating a warm dining vibe.

What stands out is the pho itself—broth that manages to hit deep meaty flavors without being overly oily, paired with noodles cooked just right to strike a balance between tender and springy. Popular choices include pho with eye of round steak and fatty brisket, and the broader menu offers a good variety of vermicelli bowls, broken rice dishes, and classic Banh Mi sandwiches. Condiments come neatly arranged on a platter, adding a fresh, customized touch with plenty of herbs, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapenos for layering flavors.

Beyond pho, other traditional items like pork spring rolls and grilled lemongrass chicken rice give a chance to explore more of Vietnam’s culinary staples. The Vietnamese iced coffee on the menu is a fitting finish, especially if you want a sweet, robust pick-me-up after your meal.

If you’re looking for a straightforward, dependable Vietnamese meal in Carrollton with consistent flavors and a clean setting, Pho Pasteur II fits the bill. It’s a spot suited especially for visitors who prioritize the food and authenticity over elaborate ambiance or highly personalized service. Lunch rushes reveal its local popularity, making mid-afternoon visits a quieter window for a more relaxed experience.

Amazing pho, one of the best ones I ate! Delicious broth and fresh ingredients. The restaurant is clean and modern. I have to compliment the cleanliness of their condiments. All of them were wiped down and clean. No sticky residue left like in many other pho places - I really appreciated that attention to detail. Unfortunately the staff was unfriendly, that was kinda disappointing.

I came in around 3 PM and it is definitely a busy spot for lunch but they were quick to clean and get people in. I ordered an XL Pho with Eye Round Steak and Fat Brisket. Soup: A pretty rich broth that had a nice meaty flavor by itself and not too much oil in it either. Noodles: Were cooked just right so it wasn't tough and chewy or mushy at all. Meat: I usually order normal brisket instead of fatty brisket but this one was pretty tender and tasted well and fresh. There wasn't much toughness on the meat and it had a nice taste. Price/Size: For the price of around 15 dollars, I got a solid sized bowl that definitely filled me up well. Extras: They bring all the side stuff to put in your pho on a separate plate which is nice if you don't like any of it in your bowl. Bathroom had bath soap for hand soap which was funny. Overall: A really solid bowl of pho and definitely one of the best ones I've had. It is a bit pricey but for comparison sake with all other pho reviews, it's not too bad.

This is our go to place for authentic Pho. The Pho soups are excellent and always a good choice. We also like the Spring Rolls with Pork and Shrimp. I tend to order the Pho with Tofu, while my son always orders the Pho with the Eye of Round Steak. The condiments are presented on an oval platter with bean sprouts, fresh cilantro, sliced jalapenos, and fresh basil leaves on the stem. There is a variety of drinks available- cold and hot teas. I highly recommend this restaurant. I rated the atmosphere at a 3 stars, since it is a minimalistic space. They close at 9 p.m.

Really great spot for Vietnamese Soups! I had the egg and rice noodles with pork, shrimp, and crab. It was delicious! I especially liked the flavor of the broth. Only downside was there were only 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 small pieces of crab... Great taste but I felt like there should have been a tiny bit more. I didn't care for the spring rolls. They had noodles in them and less fresh veggies.

Best bun bo hue in the area! I used to love pho until I first tried bun bo hue. I rarely order pho now. Many Vietnamese restaurants make good pho, but few make bun bo hue right. The broth at Pho Pasteur II is perfect. It's light but extremely flavorful without being salty, and it has all the ingredients you'd expect like lemongrass, onion, etc. They don't include pork blood cubes in their bun bo hue, but they do give you generous amounts of pork leg and brisket. I also want to give a special shout-out to their iced desserts. I love getting their che ban mau (tri-colored desert) or the jelly version after a big bowl of hot noodle soup! My sister often gets the Vietnamese coffee here—it actually comes as a drip coffee, and is *really* strong and refreshing! The staff here is always friendly and service is good (they'll actually check in with you during your meal).

My second time coming here. Let me tell you - the broth. Man... The broth is so good! It tastes clean. This is the only place where I can fully finish the bowl. Meat is tender, the greens are fresh. I'm the one that puts ALL the greens in my bowl too. I wish this place had locations in Florida because nothing here compares to Pho Pasteur. I see reviews that dock stars for the service aspect - I don't think that's really fair. The staff is very straightforward - they take your order, bring the food out, and then leave you alone. I don't understand why some people feel the need to have someone hovering and interrupting your meal multiple times to ask how everything is. I like it how it is.

Favorite place for pho by far. The menu is extensive, and there are so many options for pho that it took us awhile just to make a decision. I ordered the combination bowl, with flank, round steak, meatballs, tripe, and soft tendon. The noodles were tender and cooked just right, but the true star of the dish was the broth. It was rich, balanced, and had that deep, slow-simmered flavor that can only be achieved with hours of cooking. We also had some fresh and tasty pork and shrimp spring rolls. The peanut sauce even had a little chili mixed in for just the right kick. An excellent meal, start to finish. Highly recommended if you're craving comforting, authentic pho done right.
